Get Ready for Laughter

Get Ready for Laughter: Kym Whitley’s Intimate Comedy Tour Heads East

LOS ANGELES, CA – Kym Whitley, actress, comedian, and multi-award-winning podcaster known for her memorable roles in films like “Next Friday,” TV hits such as “Young & Hungry,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Raising Whitley,” along with a Daytime Emmy-nomination for her role as Big Candi on “The Bay,” is set to bring a much-needed dose of laughter to the East Coast. With her biting wit and relatable humor, Whitley is ready to deliver a fresh, intimate comedy experience across select cities.

“This moment isn’t about cracking jokes; it’s about creating a refuge where laughter defies reality’s gravity,” said Kym Whitley. “If I can carve out an hour to lift spirits, then I’ve fulfilled my purpose.”

As society navigates complex times, these shows are designed not only as entertainment but as a necessary escape. Cities including Louisville, Kentucky; New Brunswick, NJ; Bridgeport, CT; Boston, MA; and Albany, NY, where this unmissable tour is set to captivate audiences. Each night offers a fresh experience—proving that when Kym Whitley is involved, anything can happen.

Whitley’s journey into stand-up acts as both a return to roots and a fresh exploration. Fans can currently stream Kym’s latest Amazon Prime films: “Re-Election” and “Killing Mary Sue,” and her Netflix projects, “Happy Gilmore 2” and “Act Your Age.” These performances have solidified her status as one of today’s funniest voices in comedy — and the new venture shows an artist continually redefining herself while staying true to what matters most: delivering joy.

Later this year, Kym will star alongside Tommy Davidson in BET’s + series “The Varnell Hill Show,” a spinoff of the iconic 1990s sitcom “Martin.” Whitley will portray Kim Jones, the loyal assistant and unofficial executive producer to Davidson’s Varnell Hill, a character he originally played as a guest star on the original series. Martin Lawrence, co-creator, will also appear as Martin Payne in the series.

“My stage isn’t just mine—it’s a canvas for spontaneity where every night writes its own story,” she remarked. “With each city comes different energy—and you never know who might join me in amplifying it.”

Tickets are limited for what promises to be unforgettable nights filled with side-splitting hilarity tempered by heartfelt connection. For more information about dates and venues near you, please see the list below.
